Feline Blues
02:50
|
|||
I love my sugar, love her true
Sweet as honey, through and through
But lately I’ve suspected some companions
Two other men are in her heart
And they’re driving her and me apart
A wedge that feels as wide as the Grand Canyon
Well I’ve got two cats and they’re here to stay
I tried to ditch them straight away
Now honey, they’ve got me feelin’ blue
If I threw them out, I would be alone
Gotta make a choice: baby, I suppose
I’ll stick with you and those Feline Blues
Yes even though I’ve got allergies
She got those pets quick as you please
So now I live a life that’s full of dander
They scream all night and fight all day
But there’s not a thing that I can say
To raise a word against them would be slander
Well I’ve got two cats and they’re here to stay
I tried to ditch them straight away
Now honey, they’ve got me feelin’ blue
If I threw them out, I would be alone
Gotta make a choice: baby, I suppose
I’ll stick with you and those Feline Blues
Well my eyes will itch and my nose will run;
Think my sinuses will come undone
Because of these two furry, feral monsters.
Still, allergies and noise aside,
I guess they’re pretty cute sometimes
Looks like we’ve added two kids to our roster
Well I’ve got two cats and they’re here to stay
I tried to ditch them straight away
Now honey, they’ve got me feelin’ blue
If I threw them out, I would be alone
Gotta make a choice: baby, I suppose
I’ll stick with you and those Feline Blues
I’ll stick with you and those Feline Blues

The Only Home I Know
03:56
|
|||
The gentle glow of daybreak
The whisper of the pines
They only have to sense it
To wish they had a home like mine
The road less traveled beckons
It bids you to attend
To nature's primal beauty
The greatest place you've ever been
You step outside and marvel
At the canopy of stars
Our life may not have glamor
But still, each thing we have is ours
We've got this time together
We've got each other too
And at its deepest core
There's a gravel road that's winding through
They say it's not as fast to take the back roads
That I'm supposed to hurry where I go
But this gravel that you see will take me back home
Yeah these roads lead to the only home I know
A pebbled ribbon carving
Through forest, and through glen
The restless heart is longing
To see the woodlands once again
We find ourselves alone now
The others left behind
The chance to live beside us
But what else could they hope to find?
They say it's not as fast to take the back roads
That I'm supposed to hurry where I go
But this gravel that you see will take me back home
Yeah these roads lead to the only home I know
Home is where I find rest
Home’s not just a place
Home is a gift of love from God above
And Home’s where I see your face
There’s no mistake about it
This beauty never fades
The others couldn't see it
That we're the ones who have it made
So here's to all the back roads
We'll take along the way
They're all just paths to travel
But not all paths are made the same
They say it's not as fast to take the back roads
That I'm supposed to hurry, oh I'm supposed to hurry
They say it's not as fast to take the back roads
That I'm supposed to hurry where I go
But this gravel that you see will take me back home
Yeah these roads lead to the only home I know
Back to the only home I've ever known

Land of My Mother
02:46
|
|||
There's a long road ahead and a home left behind
And the path leads my spirit to wander
And I'm left once again with this road and my thoughts
And I think of my past as I ponder
Oh I long for the warmth of familiar faces,
The touch of another, the sound of your name
And I long for the time spent in faraway places,
The land of my mother, never the same
As humans, we tend to grow up and apart
But a singular bond lives unfading
‘Cause the roots of your family stay hearty and green
And kindle your heart unabating
Oh I long for sight of a hand that will nurture,
A hand that will hold me, and guide as I roam
And I long for the embers that whisper the future
The land of my mother, forever my home
A journey is measured by progress alone
But I’m mindful of each step that’s taken
Whether closer or farther from family I love
And the kinship that’s never forsaken
So I long for the sun on a friendly horizon,
The strength for tomorrow alone as today
And I long for the distance between us to lessen,
For morning to beckon a prodigal stray
There’s a long road ahead and a home left behind
The land of my mother, forever my home

Come Find Me
03:50
|
|||
It feels like forever since you've
Been here in my arms
I know that you're out there
But you feel so far
I haven't felt such a distance
As when we're apart
I see where you left me
And it grieves my heart
So tell me when we’ll end up together?
My heart is in two, and may not get better
Oh why does this world prevent reuniting?
Will there be a way for you to come...find...me?
You always knew where to find me
But now that you can’t
I’m trapped in a world with
No more hope to plant
It’s true that we’re not together
And though you’re not far
It brings as much comfort
As a distant star
Will we be parted forever?
Love hasn’t finished its letter
Your arms are ever inviting
And could it be, that there’s a way, for you to come...find...me?
I long to be reunited,
To see you again
I know that I’ll hold you,
But I don’t know when
Proximity’s all I long for,
The touch of your hand
I feel isolated,
More than I can stand
So tell me when we’ll end up together? / Will we be parted forever?
My heart is in two, and may not get better / Love hasn’t finished its letter
Oh why does this world prevent reuniting? / Your arms are ever inviting
Will there be a way for you to come... / And could it be, that there’s a way, for you to come...
I’m not giving up on this endeavor / I know this won’t last forever
Love lives like it’s free, and not like a debtor / We’ll find a way back together
As long as we live, we’ll keep on fighting / We won’t lose to this dividing
I know there’s a way for you to come...find...me / And I will trust, that there’s a way, for you to come...find...me

The Wandering
03:43
|
|||
I heard you calling,
The song was in my ear,
But I couldn’t leave this cage I built
Out of my own fear
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Have I known your grace?
A ghost against my skin,
But I’ll never hold this memory
Close enough my friend,
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Can you hear me?
Can you see me?
Do you know where I belong?
The wandering has gone so far,
Somewhere I went wrong.
Can you hear me?
Can you see me?
Did you know I was here?
My heart is fractured once again,
I need help I fear.
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
A soul know its trek,
Bearing weight from the start
If history could be rewritten
Could I change my part?
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Can you hear me?
Can you see me?
Do you know where I belong?
The wandering has gone so far,
Somewhere I went wrong.
Can you hear me?
Can you see me?
Did you know I was here?
My heart is fractured once again,
I need help I fear.
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
I wish to realize
But the past knows where to hide,
To make it incomprehensible
Somewhere deep inside
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
You can hear me?
You can see me?
I carry what went wrong
The wandering has gone so far,
Is this where I belong?
You can hear me?
You can see me?
You knew what I would fear,
My heart is fractured once again,
Please help me stand here.
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh

Together Apart
02:48
|
|||
It’s funny all the tricks time plays
When you’re not beside me, all the minutes turn to days
I know the distance hasn’t changed
But after all this separation, the world’s rearranged
I know you’re not near me, and I miss you so dearly
Waitin’ for a change in the weather: growing apart, together
I know this won’t last forever; to meet again’s my endeavor,
And it comforts my heart: growing together, apart
We cannot face the world outside
But though we seem alone, we have no need to run and hide
We’ll get to join up once again
Step by step, surviving till we get from now to then
I know you’re not near me, and I miss you so dearly
Waitin’ for a change in the weather: growing apart, together
I know this won’t last forever; to meet again’s my endeavor,
And it comforts my heart: growing together, apart
Oh my friend, how I long to see your smiling face again,
Braced against all this isolation promising to mend
Oh my friend, will we ever drink beneath one roof again?
Is the end to our separation truly 'round the bend?
I know you’re not near me, and I miss you so dearly
Waitin’ for a change in the weather: growing apart, together
I know this won’t last forever; to meet again’s my endeavor,
And it comforts my heart: growing together, apart

This is Your Home
04:20
|
|||
The life we used to tell,
Of youth, adventure, and peace,
In the grass where we fell,
Contained joy then released.
Wild horses rushing past,
Dryads singing from the trees,
Believe the sun will last,
To stay with us just as free.
Where the wind calls you to run,
We will always be here.
Whether the war was lost or won,
And our hearts never leave there,
If you should fall to the ground
With a soul full of stone,
Whether you are broken or sound
Here is the hearth,
Here is your home.
The ship began to sail,
The waves turning like a page,
The fates sent out their gale,
And we ran to our crusade.
Where this road would take us,
Or the creatures we would meet,
The memories will rush,
And sweep us off our feet.
Where the wind calls you to run,
We will always be here.
Whether the war was lost or won,
And our hearts never leave there,
If you should fall to the ground
With a soul full of stone,
Whether you are broken or sound
Here is the hearth,
Here is your home.
Your body turned to time
When you looked in her sight,
Blood full of terror’s wine,
There’s no hero of this fight.
Earth rains down from the sky,
Giants’ and dragons’ reign,
With monsters’ and fiends’ lies,
Your mind aches to remain.
From the witch’s curse,
To the siren’s call,
From this universe,
To the King’s own hall,
With treasure and gold,
Or stories to roam,
With these friends to hold,
Or warmth to be shown,
This is your hearth,
This is your home.
Where the wind calls you to run,
We will always be here.
Whether the war was lost or won,
And our hearts never leave there,
If you should fall to the ground
With a soul full of stone,
Whether you are broken or sound
Here is the hearth
Where the wind calls you to run,
We will always be here.
Whether the war was lost or won,
And our hearts never leave there,
If you should fall to the ground
With a soul full of stone,
Whether you are broken or sound
Here is the hearth,
Here is your home.
